Some reviews on restaurants i've visited lately:

The Garlic Restaurant

Mussels in garlic lemon sauce.
nice and tasty with fresh mussels!
6/10

Soft Shell Crab Mee Goreng.
Mee Goreng is nicely mixed with savoury sauce but for the price i paid for this, think around $12+, i can get a plate of nice mee goreng just as nice as this for less than half the price.
6/10

this picture is badly taken.
and the food tastes just as bad.
this dish is snail sausage pasta or something.
3/10

overall, i don't think i'll visit the garlic restaurant again.
but the mussels are worth a try, really!

Crystal Jade Kitchen
i'm so grateful that there's a branch of CJ opposite my home.
i love CJ to bits and we alwayz order the same old stuff when we're there.

porridge!
texture is simply great and it's terrific, i alwayz yearn for more.
8/10

Wanton Mee.
the noodles are really springy and chewy, i'm not a noodle person but i like this alot.
wanton skin is soft and tender, prawns in it are fresh.
8.5/10

Porridge Based Steamboat

this restaurant is located along Liang Seah Street, it's called Park Deli Cafe, they have normal steamboat too and i heard some raves about their porridge based steamboat so decided to give it a try.

fresh meatballs, crab sticks, liver, veggies, luncheon meat, snow crab, prawns and all the normal steamboat stuff can be found here.

we simply dumped everything in and stirred the porridge occasionally.

now waiting for the stuff to cook and boil.

at first it was quite bland.
but after a while, it became more and more tasty.

and it's quite cheap too!
around $13+ per head.
6.5/10

Desserts at 记得吃
we found this along Liang Seah Street as well.

(we had this straight after the porridge based steamboat above.

Steamed Egg White with Fresh Milk
you can choose to have it chilled or warm.
i took the warm one and it simple melts in my mouth.
plus, it's good for our complexion!
8/10

Steamed Ginger with egg white
i don't like ginger but if you like ginger, i think you'll like this.

V8 Cafe (Bugis)

Baked Beef Lagsane
very poorly cooked.
the pasta inside was soggy and the beef didn't seem fresh.

i can't remember the exact name for this but it's something like Seafood Fried Rice.
sauce is nice and seafood is fresh.
what a relieve.
6/10

Chicken Cutlet
serving isn't very small and it's very normal.
5/10

Central (HongKong Cafe)

sometimes, i hate staying so far away in the extreme east but yummy cafes like these seem to make up for this at times!

Free drinks for every dish ordered.

Thousand layer beancurd with pork floss
this was served chilled.
it's nice and soft and carefully layered with shredded pork floss found within.
i like this very much and it's only $5.50
7/10

Baked Seafood Rice
i think i prefer their baked pork rice, it's much tastier than this.
4/10

Spicy Chicken Wings
very yummy!!!
8/10

Fish Head Steamboat at Whampoa Market

i felt like i was in paradise when i was having this.
the soup base is very very tasty!!!
and the fish inside is so fresh and tender.
i can't get enough of this.
this costs $21.

sorry i forgot to take down the name of the stall but it's at the back row, facing the shop houses, on the extreme right.

waiting time is quite long though and service isn't very good.
but the yummy food makes everything a little more worth while.

My Shopping List!!

no fanciful clothes, killer heels or lolita accessories for me this month.
it's all about cosmetics and skincare!!

Majolica Majorca Majolook eyeshadow palette!

Dramatical Mascara by Shisedo, this is my HG, have been using this for years.
but it's a pity this can't be found in Singapore.

Sony CP Curvy Sillicon Lipgloss

Red Wine Mask

Lavender Base/Sunscreen

Magic Cleansing Oil

Jo's Birthday!

lucky jo is alwayz surrounded by sweeties and beauties :P

and drunkards.

just look at incorrigible us!

2 more weeks before my holiday!

Ichiban Boshi

very nice chawanmushi!
its comparable to the one that i had at Kuishinbo.

i had this Salmon Bento set.
it comes witn tempura as well.
it's quite cheap but i don't remember its price.
i find it so-so.
the salmon has more bones than flesh.

as usual, we would never ever miss this out whenever we dine at a jap restaurant.
fresh assorted sashimi!
i'm so contented with this, there's maguro, tai, salmon and i'm not sure what else.
i love salmon and tai, bing loves maguro!

hand made soba.
some of you may know this jap restaurant at Paragon selling handmade soba, Ichiban makes soba the same way as how the restaurant at Paragon made theirs.
i've seen the demonstration and was very impressed.
the chef uses a special kind of knife and swiftly cuts the whole big piece of flour into ultra thin stripes at a super fast speed!

and i heard it's very nice.
however, when i tried this, i was greatly disappointed.
it's not 'bouncy' in texture at all.
in fact, it's more sticky than bouncy?
or was it meant to be like that?

we ate like pigs, we ate more than what normal 2 people would eat.

the bill came up to $60+ in the end which i found rather reasonable for so many items!

Dining at Ichiban Boshi had been a pleasant experience.
it's a cheaper alternative to my favourite Kuishinbo and Waruku!

the past 2 weeks has been MARTELL WEEK! :P

drink, drunk, down..

we had so much fun singing, shouting, playing, laughing, crying.
we successfully turned the whole pub into a zoo.

meet the craziest and loudest alcoholics in Singapore:

I secretly stole this from jac's blog cuz i'm lazy to upload them myself :P
and i have to add, i'm proud of her beautiful and artistic creation, that's why it's here in my blog, must feel honoured ok my dear babarian!

then...

2 days later...

we met up again, for more drinks!

2 new comers!

and guess what, the night wasn't over.
we hopped over to Party World after that where we could sing in our own private zones.

and 2 nights ago....

how to resist drinking with such crazy people you tell me?
3 martells got everyone blasting at the loudest volumes.

i want more!!!

Sakura Thai Restaurant
@Far East Plaza Level 3

i've been here before a long time ago, it's alwayz full house on weekends and there's alwayz a queue outside.
i guess it's rather popular, so we went there again on Saturday.

Tom Yum Seafood Soup
too sourish and the prawns didn't look fresh, i didn't eat it.
5/10

Fish Head Curry
this was on promotion and only costs $8.
the curry gravy was OK only, very normal and nothing fantastic.
the fish wasn't fresh.
the only thing i like about this is the ladies fingers and brinjals.
4/10

Garlic Prawns
nice and tasty!
they came in 6 pieces of prawns.
6/10

we also ordered sambal kangkong, which was nice!
i doubt i'll be here very often though.

Mario Kitchen
Authentic Korean Cuisine @ Liang Seah Street
Side dishes came free.
they consists of the usual kim chi, ikan billis, brinjal.

BBQ-ed beef.
Fantastic!
it's really tender and cooked to near perfection.
the more i ate this, the more i yearned for it.
8/10

Steamboat in Kim Chi soup base.
i found this not very much to my liking but Bing loved it.
it consists of kim chi, cabbages, mushrooms, sausages.
6/10

the bill for these came up to $50+.
the next thing i wanna try here is their Bibimbap.
FYI, they're closed on Sundays.

The Soup Restaurant

After wanting to try this for so long, i finally did.
and i'm rather disappointed with the food.
i expected really nice soup but mine wasn't as nice.
maybe i ordered the wrong soup.

Sam Sui Chicken.
this is the specialty of the restaurant.
eat with with lots of garlic.
8/10

the kangkong was really oily and i didn't enjoy it much either.

Monday, March 20, 2006

this is an all-in-0ne entry:

pics taken on TWZ's birthday!
we went to a nice and cozy KTV pub at Tanjong Pagar, Crazy Hours.
it's big and spacious and we had a cozy little corner where we could shout, scream, play games like little kids.

nevertheless, we had fun.

Happy Birthday!

you see!
this jac lee ah, trying to do what she did to Gerald on me....

but luckily, i politely siam-ed *lol*

The game players.
i want to laugh at Buah Chee Chee and Buah Ku Ku.

my purchases of the week:

Lace Racer Back and Red Cami

my god, i shop like there's no tomorrow.
pls don't inform me of anymore sprees online from now!

Latest food reviews:
Parklane Deli House Steamboat
this is along Liang Seah Street, just opposite Can Cafe.

it only costs $13+ per person for unlimited buffet.

some of my friends love this place as they claimed it has excellent soup base.
but for me and Bing, we found it quite normal.
though i feel the tomyum soup base is much nicer than the one at Parkway's.
but it's cheap!
well, individual's have different tastes.
one's meat may be another's venom.
the porridge base steamboat is also available here and it's highly raved about, i feel like trying it soon!

Crystal Jade, Macau Snacks
AT Parco Bugis Junction.

Seafood and Pork Baked Rice.
this is fantastic, it comes in 2 kinds of gravy,
tomato and cream respectively.
i like both equally!
7/10

Fried Udon
looks very irresistable right?
it's not, looks can really be deceiving.
all i can say is, i have tasted way better fried udon than this.
skip it.
5/10

Thai Delight from Tampines Pasar Malam!

Papaya Salad (with added chillies)
i crave for this day in, day out.
it makes my taste buds numb and my tears flow, i'm not exaggerating.
one word, shiok
$2

Mee Salad.
Even my mum says it's very fragrant.
$3

i love thai food!
this stall is operated by Thais and what you'll get is EXACTLY like the ones you find along the streets of Bangkok.

the pasar malam will cease on the 26th of this month and i'm gonna miss it so much.
