we didn't have any specific plans on this day, and decided to just explore the little town of Santa Monica.

We stumbled upon this pets centre, something like Singapore's SPCA.

Most people seem to own a blackberry handset here in US.
and i particularly love this model in red.

USA- Day 9 (Beverly Hills + Hollywood)

Sorry for the super super late updates.

Here's what we did on our 9th day in USA.

We booked a tour to the movie stars' homes + Hollywood.

First stop was at third street promenade where we bought our lunch and had them onboard the tour bus:

Yummy Yummy chicken nachos!

Salmon salad from wolfgang express

The tour to movie stars' homes have started.
we were brought to the doorsteps of many many hollywood celebrities, these are basically their vacation homes where they come like 2-3 times a year when they need to attend the Oscars or have filming in Los Angeles.

Other than the celebrities, rich people mostly doctors and lawyers live here.

The tour guide said these houses are huge inside, some have wine cellars in them.

we were brought to many many stars' homes and i can't remember whose is whose, however, this home belongs to Jennifer Lopez, i remembered the basketball court.

and this home belongs to Bill Cosby, because if you noticed the word 'ENNIS' is above the door, Ennis is actually Bill Cosby's son who passed away.

The TANNING studio which Britney Spears went to right after losing her kids in Beverly Hills.

Rodeo Drive, the most expensive shopping street in the WORLD.

buying a cup of hot chocolate to keep ourselves warm

Beverly Hills post office! Looks so posh and grand!

along the sunset strip, the very famous stretch where celebrities hang out!

The Viper Room- the nightclub partly owned by Johnny Depp and this is place where River Phoenix died of a drug overdose on Halloween morning in 1993.
Now, this club remains a hangout for Hollywood young celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Sean Penn.

a popular restaurant where stars hang out.

Another popular hangout for hollywood stars.

House of Blues (HOB) is a corporate chain of music halls and restaurants founded in 1992 by Hard Rock Cafe founder Isaac Tigrett and his friend and investor Dan Aykroyd.

The Hollywood Standard Hotel building was originally the Thunderbird Motel which opened in 1962. The building had become a retirement home when Balazs purchased and remodeled the building. Original investors in the Hollywood hotel were Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Benicio del Toro, The Smashing Pumpkins' D'Arcy Wretzky and James Iha.
The Standard Hotel chain is know for its appeal with a celebrity crowd and its' distinctive upside-down signage and logo.

This is the place where Brad Pitt was said to have worked before he became a celebrity, he was dressed up as a rooster mascot here giving out pamhlets and performing the chicken dance.

The Kodak Theatre is a live theatre in the Hollywood and Highland retail, dining, and entertainment complex on Hollywood Boulevard and North Highland Avenue in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. Since its opening on November 9, 2001, the theatre has been the home of the annual Academy Awards Ceremonies (The Oscars), which were first held there in March 2002, and is the first permanent home for the awards

i'm in HOLLYWOOD!!

we were brought to this place where we could have a really good view of the Hollywood sign and Hollywood itself!

Passed by Universal Studios but did not go

sushi for dinner, very sick of fast food and all those fried and oily stuff.

I don't know what this is but it looks rather appetizing to me, took a picture of it at a store that has this.

we caught a movie at 3rd Street Promenade but not the Zohan (cuz at that time, the Zohan wasn't even on the screens yet)

this was what we watched... IRONMAN!!
The theatre was very similar to our Golden Village here.

After the movie.

It was drizzling when we left the theatre and really cold, we waited for the bus at the same bus stop again and we saw 2 old men who were alsi there the previous night!!
They smiled at us and we chatted a bit, one of them is from ?? (i forgot) but he said his friend is from Iraq and joked that he is a terrorist.
