I had steamboat everywhere i went.
had it at home.
gonna have it again at yvonne's place today.
but i love steamboat!

Bing's place turned into a gambling den yesterday.
2 tables of mahjong and one big table of black jack.
all my beloved friends gathering together and shouting "PICTURE".

today, the same thing is gonna happen.
Yvonne's house will turn into another gambling den.
everywhere we go, we gamble.

on saturday, it's wendy's house that will become a gambling den.
it doesn't only happen on CNY.
we gamble not only on these 15 days of the year.
we gamble practically 365 days round the year.

why are all my friends like that?!?!?

i can't decide on the grey or black.
and so,
i got both.

Image hosting by Photobucket

and some tops for CNY,
i'm too lazy to post their pics.

i did my nails today!!

Image hosting by Photobucket
very CNY ya?
i love this Big Red Apple shade.
it cost me $28.
darn, manicure in Singapore is friggin' expensive.
with this amount in BKK, i could have done manicure +
pedicure, twice.

we caught The Memoirs of a Geisha some time early this week.
it's awesome.
exactly like the book.
Sayuri is stunning.
and i congratulate Gong Li, for playing the role of a mad woman so successfully.
its so good that i feel like watching this show again.

here's my new discovery,

went to try this last night after watching a TV program:

Kim's Place Seafood

37 Joo CHiat Place
(at the junction of Tumbelling Road)

this place is famous for their hokkien mee in the past.
well, hokkien mee is still famous now here but they have other specialties as well, which is currently, their cheese crab and lobster.

this was what we orderd:

Cereal Prawns.
the picture doesn't look nice right?
cuz it's really not very nice afterall and not fresh.
Cereal is cooked with egg so it's kinda soggy and not crispy.
Can give this a miss.

Salad You Tiao.
This is not bad.
Can try if you like you tiao.
ask for lots of mayo to go with this!

Steamed FIsh.
this costs us $66
and it's not very nice too.
not very worth imo, give this a miss unless you don't paying.

Cheese Lobster!
this was the first dish that got us all nodding with approval!
it's fantastic!
well, get the chef to chop the lobster up into many pieces so that the cheese can be equally spread out to every part.
one big one costs us $98.
but it's really worth a try.
the lobster is huge!

Chilli Crab.
this is the best crab i've ever had.
their gravy isn't the best but the crab is really gigantic.
i enjoyed it to the max!!
it's really heavenly.
2 giant crabs for $90+
1kg is around $32.

i like dipping the crispy man-tous with the gravvy!

their hokkien mee is nice too, do try it.

i think go there just try the hokkien mee, crab and lobster will do :P

for more info, pls visit: KIM'S PLACE SEAFOOD

don't ask me how to get there cuz we drove there and i have zero sense of direction.
all i can tell you is, turn in at Joo Chiat Place, go all the way straight.
heard of "Fei Fei Wanton Mee"?
well, it's somewhere further down.
once you reach the cross junction of Joo Chiat Place and Tumbelling ROad, Kim's place is on your right.
it has an orangy setting.
and there's a big Guan Yin Temple somewhere in front of it across the road.

Anyway, wanna know a little history of this coffee shop?

my dear friend told me this:

Years back, the owner of this coffee shop set up a small prawn noodle business.
and he got more and more popular as years go by.

being so highly sought after, he became very arrogant and proud which everyone began to detest,
but they still continued to consume his prawn noodles cuz they were simply irresistable.

then, one day, he got robbed.
and he closed down his prawn noodle business.
turning it into Kim's Place.

well, it's a hearsay, but could possibly be true.

Moral of the story:

don't set up Hay Mee stall next time lah!

Bye everyone,
i'm a lil cranky today.

Inspired by the book and the movie, "In Her Shoes".

I carry your heart with me, By EE Cummings

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

"One Art" by Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn't hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.

---Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident
the art of losing's not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

So beautiful and mind intriguing :)

i ended up with a stomachache.

The Spanner Crab (left)
The Snow Crab (right)
Snow Crab is only available during dinner buffet.
it's very meaty and nice.
The Spanner crab pales in comparison.
i think it's just me, but i didn't really like the taste of it.

Image hosted by
gigantic legs it has!

battling with the crab

Image hosted by
i love the shishamo.
bing loves the chawanmushi which is very very smooth.
the teppanyaki veggie is nice too, like normal stir fried veggies.

Image hosted by
cheese lobster!
this is a special order and only the first 26 customers in the queue gets it.
you can skip it cuz it ain't fantastic.

Image hosted by
Sharks Fin soup,
which looks and tastes like corn soup.
i'm disappointed with this.

Image hosted by
my cotton candy!
"cotton candies are for kids!"-- i heard a big burly guy say near me.
yes, i'm a kid, one that never grows.

Image hosted by
just look at this!!
among all the buffets i've been to, i love Kuishinbo's tantalizing spread of desserts best!
i like everything!

from the green tea cheese cake, mango-blueberry cheese cake, fruit salad, chocolate mousse, cream puffs, chocolate eclairs, chocolates, jellies, soft serve ice cream (it's really very soft, i love its texture but the chocolate ice cream tasted weird) etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, i just love love love love love Kuishinbo's range of desserts!!!

and their apple vinegar drink!

Dong Dong Dong, 123, we love Kuishinbo!
i'll be back!

My world full of colours.

we had massage at Gold Hand Thai Massage Parlour, it's just next to Asia Hotel.
i like this place as i think the service is not bad.
my friend spoilt her camera and the manager offered to repair it for her.
Massage is cheap too and i see many tourists coming here.

Pigging out at the roadside stalls along Samran Place.
these are only opened at night.
it's fabulous!!!!!!!!!

Image hosted by
the nicest and best TomYum i've ever ate in my life!
