or you can email him at mhanitt@hotmail.com

on the speed boat to Phi Phi.

this isnt the speedboat we were on, it's a neighbouring speedboat but it looks just like that one we're on.

Approaching Maya Bay, the place where the movie "The Beach" is filmed, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
our tour guide says that the crew of "the beach" stayed there for around 1 year cuz they kept things at a slow pace as they can't bear to leave the place :)

lots of tourists suntanning and swimming, all in the love of the sun, sand and the sea.

the sand is powdery and really so fine, the water is nice, clear and green.
this place is heavenly!

Viking Cave.
the people there stay up till 6 months just to get bird's nest from this cave.

swimming in the middle of the deep blue sea.

Lunch at Phi Phi Don.

exploring this part of the island.

there are many chalets here to put up at.

Many shops selling touristy stuff and this scuba diving center where you can take up lessons and sign up for packages.

Our next destination, Khai Island.

The chairs and umbrellas could be rented for 100baht if i'm not wrong.
otherwise, you can just sit on the sand and suntan for free.

The water's beautiful over here and there are many fishes near the shore waiting for us to feed them.
and they trust humans so much!

i really really love this place to bits!

be careful of jelly fishes here, we saw some.
on board, Aquarius.

Nancy's our tour guide and she's really nice and has a very fluent, Australian like English accent although she's a Thai Muslim.
although she's younger than me, she's been through so much more than me.
She managed to escape the Tsunami, being trapped somewhere at Phi Phi Island and saw many people dying before her.
She generously shared many of her close to deaths experiences with us too.
A really lucky girl who takes good care of us as well :)

John is a tourist from America and really friendly as well.
He even paid for our souvenirs when the seller did not have small change for us.
what a nice and generous man!

i'm so glad to have met such nice people to make this trip really unforgettable :)

Back at Patong.
i was really exhausted and took a nap after the snorkelling trip.
this pic was taken moments after i woke up and we're searching for food!

finally found a decent and nice hawker:

~*~Phuket + Bangkok Travaganza~*~

Day One

i'm finally back!
it seems like a really long holiday but it was a truly amazing one.
i fell even deeper in love with the Thais.
they made us smile all day long!!

i have an avalanche of pictures to upload and i can never finish them up in one day cuz of my super slow computer + the super slow uploading speed of dotphoto. (wonder what's wrong tonight)

now, let me show you my holiday journey.....

Arrival at Phuket.
We arrived at 7+AM in the morning, thailand time.
the flight was approximately 1 hour 25 minutes.

on the way out from the airport, we were greeted with many private cabbies tempting us with their cheap offers but i was advised many times to take the metered taxi which is around 100m away from the entrance to the airport.

however, a driver offered us this incredibly cheap deal of THB300 for 2 to our hotel in a minivan and we gave in to this temptation.

only to find out that they stopped us at a travel agency hoping to make some commission if we signed up for island hopping tours.
but we did not and after 1 hour, we reached our hotel.

at the reception checking in.
we were served with some nice tasting tea.

Deluxe room with pool and garden view.
nice and cozy, with a contemporary Thai-style setting.
one of the things that attracted me to this boutique hotel was the french sari headboards hanging over the bed.

a little french balcony overlooking the pool which was partially blocked by some palm trees.
now, i truly understand what they meant by pool AND garden view.

a little window to the bathroom.

a closer view of the bathroom.

walkway to the restaurant, reception, exit.

i love breakfast here, the ambience is good as well as the service and food!

Click here for more info on Burasari Resort Hotel
i would highly recommend this boutique hotel as it's nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Patong beach, where you can enjoy tranquility.
however, it's just 2 minutes walk away from the beach where you can enjoy all activities and food.

exploring the area near Burasari.

mini bars are scattered everywhere here.

Thai boxing!
you can get to watch matches at Bangla Road.
they usually start around 8.45pm at night on certain days.

Macdonald's in front of Patong Beach.

the magnificent sunset.

Bangla Road.
this road has many pubs and bars in abundance and may seem quite sleazy but it's nevertheless, safe to take a walk here.

Dinner at Savoey Seafood (click)
Casual, yet professional.

here, you get to choose the seafood you want and choose the way you would like it to be cooked.
it's just like shopping with that basket!

the tiger prawns are really huge!

and we chose to have our dinner by the beach.

with the amazing sunset accompanying us.

Savoey has lots of variety, food is relatively fresh but i believe there are better restaurants with better quality of food out there.
i love the ambience here though!

i found this little Gelato shop along Rat-U-Chit Road, behind Bangla Road.

hawkers selling cheap and good seafood at Rat-U-Chit Road.
walk towards the end of Bangla Road and turn to your left, you'll see these hawkers after a few minutes.

we did not eat here as they're extremely pushy and hardly gave us a chance to choose which we want to eat from.

i have a little more pictures taken during the first day at Phuket but it's in another camera which isn't with me at the moment, will post them again soon!

will continue with more info and pics tomorrow.
*yawn*

sheesh, i'm down with a flu again.
i seemed to get hit with the virus every fortnightly.
i think i have totally zero antibodies in my system by now.
what a weakling am i!

anyway, my most recent purchases:

Majolica Majorca Pressed Fantasia
isn't the gold persian case so pretty?

i think i should cut down on my shopping shit.
but pretty stuff are so irresistable!

Some reviews on restaurants i've visited lately:

The Garlic Restaurant

Mussels in garlic lemon sauce.
nice and tasty with fresh mussels!
6/10

Soft Shell Crab Mee Goreng.
Mee Goreng is nicely mixed with savoury sauce but for the price i paid for this, think around $12+, i can get a plate of nice mee goreng just as nice as this for less than half the price.
6/10

this picture is badly taken.
and the food tastes just as bad.
this dish is snail sausage pasta or something.
3/10

overall, i don't think i'll visit the garlic restaurant again.
but the mussels are worth a try, really!

Crystal Jade Kitchen
i'm so grateful that there's a branch of CJ opposite my home.
i love CJ to bits and we alwayz order the same old stuff when we're there.

porridge!
texture is simply great and it's terrific, i alwayz yearn for more.
8/10

Wanton Mee.
the noodles are really springy and chewy, i'm not a noodle person but i like this alot.
wanton skin is soft and tender, prawns in it are fresh.
8.5/10

Porridge Based Steamboat

this restaurant is located along Liang Seah Street, it's called Park Deli Cafe, they have normal steamboat too and i heard some raves about their porridge based steamboat so decided to give it a try.

fresh meatballs, crab sticks, liver, veggies, luncheon meat, snow crab, prawns and all the normal steamboat stuff can be found here.

we simply dumped everything in and stirred the porridge occasionally.

now waiting for the stuff to cook and boil.

at first it was quite bland.
but after a while, it became more and more tasty.

and it's quite cheap too!
around $13+ per head.
6.5/10

Desserts at 记得吃
we found this along Liang Seah Street as well.

(we had this straight after the porridge based steamboat above.

Steamed Egg White with Fresh Milk
you can choose to have it chilled or warm.
i took the warm one and it simple melts in my mouth.
plus, it's good for our complexion!
8/10

Steamed Ginger with egg white
i don't like ginger but if you like ginger, i think you'll like this.

V8 Cafe (Bugis)

Baked Beef Lagsane
very poorly cooked.
the pasta inside was soggy and the beef didn't seem fresh.

i can't remember the exact name for this but it's something like Seafood Fried Rice.
sauce is nice and seafood is fresh.
what a relieve.
6/10

Chicken Cutlet
serving isn't very small and it's very normal.
5/10

Central (HongKong Cafe)

sometimes, i hate staying so far away in the extreme east but yummy cafes like these seem to make up for this at times!

Free drinks for every dish ordered.

Thousand layer beancurd with pork floss
this was served chilled.
it's nice and soft and carefully layered with shredded pork floss found within.
i like this very much and it's only $5.50
7/10

Baked Seafood Rice
i think i prefer their baked pork rice, it's much tastier than this.
4/10

Spicy Chicken Wings
very yummy!!!
8/10

Fish Head Steamboat at Whampoa Market

i felt like i was in paradise when i was having this.
the soup base is very very tasty!!!
and the fish inside is so fresh and tender.
i can't get enough of this.
this costs $21.

sorry i forgot to take down the name of the stall but it's at the back row, facing the shop houses, on the extreme right.

waiting time is quite long though and service isn't very good.
but the yummy food makes everything a little more worth while.

My Shopping List!!

no fanciful clothes, killer heels or lolita accessories for me this month.
it's all about cosmetics and skincare!!

Majolica Majorca Majolook eyeshadow palette!

Dramatical Mascara by Shisedo, this is my HG, have been using this for years.
but it's a pity this can't be found in Singapore.

Sony CP Curvy Sillicon Lipgloss

Red Wine Mask

Lavender Base/Sunscreen

Magic Cleansing Oil

Jo's Birthday!

lucky jo is alwayz surrounded by sweeties and beauties :P

and drunkards.

just look at incorrigible us!
