[Food Review] Crab Party

Passed by Crab Party a couple of times and was very delighted that I finally had a chance to try this restaurant. Signboard is big, bright and prominent, it's hard to miss it when you're along that road.

They won the 2012 Asia Pacific Brands Award by Asia Business Journal, which is testimony to the good food they serve!

Restaurant was decorated with crab shells which had drawings on them.

Friendly and efficient staff who attended to us with lots of hospitality. Fish tanks containing fishes and seafood can be found and you can also choose your own fresh seafood from the tanks.

This is their private function room upstairs used to hold parties and events. It is big and spacious and tastefully decorated.

Upon booking their private function room, you will be served by a personal bartender who will be in charged of the mini bar upstairs. There is also a karaoke system which will keep your guests entertained all night long.

2-ways Kailan. This was a unique and creative dish. 2 kinds of Kailan were served with broccoli at the side. Sauteed Kailan was crunchy with juicy stems sprinkled with deep fried Kailan leaves which turned out to be light and crispy and we almost mistook them for pork floss for a moment!

BBQed Squid. This was cooked perfectly, squid was fresh and chewy and easily bitten off with the slightly charred taste which I absolutely adored! Love how they displayed it like a beautiful butterfly!

Cambodian styled fried sea bass which set all our taste buds running. It is modeled after the Thai style sweet sour fish where they usually pour a modest amount of Thai sweet chili on the fish,  however, this one is less sweet but more savoury with lots of garlic, basil and chilli. Something different from the normal steamed fish which we usually order at Chinese restaurants.

White pepper prawns. Instead of white pepper crabs which is a common dish, we were served white pepper prawns which packed a punch and is really savoury. Yet another good way to cook prawns!

Bangkok Curry Crab. Mildy spicy and coupled with the natural sweetness of the big, juicy Sri Lankan crab, this is one of their popular dishes and again, it's quite unique as you won't see many restaurants serving crabs in Bangkok Curry.

Salted Egg Yolk Crab. We all enjoyed this tremendously! Salted egg yolk is finely chopped and sprinkled on top of the creamy butter sauce. The butter gravy isn't too dry or overly creamy. It has a nice salty sweet tinge to it and goes perfectly with the fried man tou.

Chilli Crab. Everybody's favourite, or rather Singaporeans' favourite! The chilli crabs here did not disappoint. The meat was sweet and succulent, and the sauce was robust with a tinge of spiciness and sweetness.

BBQ crab. This was off the menu and specially cooked for us by Mr Zeppin. We were very honored to try his fantastic cooking, this was awesome and we felt so much like we were eating at home :)

We ordered man tous which were warm and soft, perfect to dip with the chilli crab and salted egg gravy.

Awesome Crab Party!!! This is an excellent restaurant to bring your friends and families too, the old and the young would definitely love the creative dishes they have to offer. The crab dishes are definitely worth a try :)
